I also have a mom that I love a not-normal amount, whom if I think about too hard also delivers tears on cue. With many similar anecdotes about the experiences of being a child of a Korean immigrant—this whole essay felt plucked from my psyche, so thank you

Ugh, so relate. And I didn’t have the exact same McDonalds cheeseburgers experience because of course I didn’t, but this piece reminds me of similar times I was a horrible devil and similar “think of this if you’re an actress who needs to cry” moments. Thanks for writing this!
